Born and raised in the great state of Maine, Sonia's love for art blossomed from a young age. Surrounded by the serene beauty of nature, she found inspiration in the vibrant colors of the changing seasons and the tranquil landscapes that surrounded her. Sonia's passion for creativity led her to pursue a degree in graphic design. With her artistic talents and keen eye for detail, she embarked on a journey in the graphic design and apparel industries that has spanned over a decade. Her unique blend of artistic flair and industry experience shines through in every aspect of her work at Laconica.

It was during her late 20’s that Sonia stumbled upon the soothing and mesmerizing painting tutorials of Bob Ross. Mesmerized by his gentle demeanor and masterful use of brushstrokes, she was captivated by the way he effortlessly transformed a blank canvas into a work of art.

With Bob Ross as her muse, Sonia picked up her paintbrush and started her own artistic journey. She began experimenting with different techniques and styles, finding joy in the process of bringing her imagination to life on canvas.

Today, as a proud artist and owner of Laconica, an online art gallery and retail store based in her hometown of Freeport, Sonia continues to channel the spirit of Bob Ross in her creations.
